Decree n° 2012-126 (NOR: IOCN1131297D ) of January 30, 2012 clarifies how applicants to French naturalization will be assessed on their acknowledgements of French culture.

The decree ‘NOR: IOCN1132013D’ , from January 30, 2012, creates a charter of rights and duties that is a reminder of the principles, values and essential symbols of the French Republic. This charter must be signed by every person who asks for the French nationality.

On the 13th of December, European parliament adopted the European directive 2011/98/EU “on a single application procedure for a single permit for third-country nationals to reside and work in the territory of a Member State and on a common set of rights for third-country workers legally residing in a Member State”[1].

Under article L3231-5 of Labour Code, and following 2.3% increase of consumption prices[1] over this year, indexed minimum wage will be automatically revalorize on December the 1st, 2011.

The decree "NOR: IOCN1119334D" brings future changes in the evaluation of French language knowledge for foreigners who apply to French naturalization, starting from the 1st of January, 2012. On June 2011, a new law (n° 2011-672) brought some changes to immigration and naturalization law. On October 2nd 2011, a decree was published to complete this law and more specifically the requirements to lodge naturalization application.
