Decree n° 2012-126 (NOR: IOCN1131297D ) of January 30, 2012 clarifies how applicants to French naturalization will be assessed on their acknowledgements of French culture.

The decree ‘NOR: IOCN1132013D’ , from January 30, 2012, creates a charter of rights and duties that is a reminder of the principles, values and essential symbols of the French Republic. This charter must be signed by every person who asks for the French nationality.

The decree "NOR: IOCN1119334D" brings future changes in the evaluation of French language knowledge for foreigners who apply to French naturalization, starting from the 1st of January, 2012. On June 2011, a new law (n° 2011-672) brought some changes to immigration and naturalization law. On October 2nd 2011, a decree was published to complete this law and more specifically the requirements to lodge naturalization application.
